Research-Based Discussion
A wardrobe is not just clothing — it is a daily reminder of how we see ourselves. When there are too many items, choice becomes stressful; when there are too few, people may feel restricted or deprived. The capsule approach promises a solution: fewer items, more combinations, fewer expenses, and less guilt. But without understanding the psychology behind it, it can become another form of self-control and perfectionism.
Research in fashion psychology and consumer behavior (2022–2026 publications in Journal of Fashion Marketing and Management, International Journal of Consumer Studies, Fashion Theory, and Sustainability) shows that:
We will not build a "perfect capsule wardrobe" and we will not say "throw everything away." Instead, we will explore why people become emotionally attached to clothes, how marketing and social media intensify the desire to buy, and which gentle psychological mechanisms help create a wardrobe that supports rather than drains emotional energy.
